Let’s talk about Wedding Venues.

After all, the venue sets the complete tone for your wedding day. Want a barn wedding? Your theme is instantly rustic. On the hunt for the perfect winery? Your day is sure to be sophisticated and elegant. Set on a ceremony at your hometown church? Classic weddings are gorgeous too!

I always say that the three biggest steps in planning a wedding are: 1) Setting your date, 2) Finding a venue, and 3) Discovering a wedding photographer who’s work you love. Three important and big steps. Once these three steps are handled the rest of your wedding planning falls into place.

I’ve been to my fair share of wedding venues. Here are a few of my favorite venues along with a reason or two why I love them.

Five Amazing Wedding Venues

My personal five favorite wedding venue options

Laurel Hall | Indianapolis, Indiana: Laurel Hall is the perfect setting for anyone who’s ever dreamed of getting married in a mansion. The venue is gorgeous! One of my favorite things about this venue is the woodwork and ornate architectural detail throughout. The bridal suite is warm and welcoming and the grand staircase serves as a great spot for first looks. Finally, another thing to note-the staff at Laurel Hall is so friendly!

Henry County Arts Park | New Castle, Indiana: This outdoor venue is very versatile. I’ve been to this venue several times and each time the setup and look of the reception space is 100% unique. Renting of the Arts Park is exactly what it sounds like, you are renting an entire (small)city park. I love how intimate of a setting the park can be in the evening under string twinkle lights.

Whitetail Tree Farm | Springport, Indiana: Found in the countryside, the tree farm is intimate and cozy in the winter, and romantic and whimsical in the summer. I love that this venue features multiple options for indoor and outdoor wedding ceremony and receptions. The venue is DIY, allowing you to design your wedding day exactly as you dream.

1899 Indy | Indianapolis, Indiana: Timeless and gorgeous, the venue features original architecture and breathtaking crystal chandeliers and a tin ceiling. Large windows surround the reception hall and allow plenty of natural light in. One of my favorite things about this venue is how simple yet elegant everything is, from the restored bathrooms to the vintage plates on the doors-it’s all about the details.

Biltwell Event Center | Indianapolis, Indiana: Built in 1922, Biltwell Event Center offers five unique spaces to accommodate ceremony and reception. This venue even has a trendy rooftop patio with outdoor lighting that makes summer evening receptions outdoors that much more dreamy.
