Anthony and Katie dated for one year before their wedding day. The two had known one another for years. They even had a few mutual friends, but it was a simple inquiry made by Katie to Anthony in regard to car maintenance that put their relationship into full swing- You never know where love will be waiting.
Katie says that Anthony’s laugh instantly caught her attention. Katie describes Anthony as respectful, hard working, and very thoughtful. Anthony first knew Katie was “the one” upon meeting her. He says, “Katie is so shy. I knew she was the one because I could be who I am with her and not have to hide anything. I am so comfortable with her, like no one else. Katie is modest, intelligent, and beautiful.”
On the day of their engagement, Anthony and Katie had plans to go to Indianapolis for dinner and afterwards a trip to the butterfly garden. Ending their day with a walk around downtown and to the circle center. The two visited monument circle where Anthony got down on one knee.
Every inch of The Lodge at River Valley Farm in Yorktown, Indiana is a gorgeous venue. On the last Saturday of April Anthony and Katie were married inside the main hall. The day was blessed with a light rain, a known good luck charm on your wedding day, and filled with moments surrounded by family and friends.
Anthony and Katie choose to have a first look before the ceremony. If you don’t know it already, I LOVE first looks. I mean I really love them. They are oh so intimate. I love that they always lead to double the couples photos. And I love that first looks allow you as a couple to have a peaceful moment together before the festivities take off for the day.
Due to rain the ceremony was moved indoors, taking place under wooden rafters wrapped in romantic twinkle lights. Katie’s wedding gown from Emmy’s Bridal, was full of lace with intricate beading along the waist line. The low train flowed gracefully behind her as she walked down the aisle with her father. Hints of sunflowers, from Reni’s Heaven Scent Flowers, glowed in the room, adorning the reception hall as well as the bridal and bridesmaid bouquets.
During the ceremony Anthony and Katie participated in a knot tying ceremony, communion, and prayer. The ceremony was simple but filled with meaningful tradition.
After the ceremony, guests were invited to join the newlywed couple for dinner, followed by a reception. A Taste of Magic Catering catered the event serving roast chicken and salad. Grace Retter baked a beautiful cake for the reception, and toasts were given by the best man and two of Katie’s sisters. At last, the night ended with a dance party filled with sweet moments shared with loved ones.
