When it comes to your engagement session location, I love to help you find a location that combines you and your finances shared passions. I think that the more meaningful the location, the more impactful the photos will be. When Kaitlyn and Andrew were trying to decide where to have their engagement session, I asked about their shared hobbies, what they like to do for fun, and if they enjoy the great outdoors. That’s when Kaitlyn casually mentioned that they currently were spending the majority of their time renovating their new home in Columbus, Indiana….on a lake!
Sometimes locations that you see everyday can lack a little luster in you own mind, when others see so much beauty and potential. I’ve always been so grateful to every couple who has trusted me over the years when it comes to helping you find the perfect location for your session. I try to find the beauty in any scenario and love it when I am able to work a little magic. Such as turning that old building in your hometown into a gorgeous architectural backdrop, show the wild flowers in the abandoned parking lot in a gorgeous new way, or in this case create an intimate moment on the lake in your own backyard.
Kaitlyn and Andrew brought a champagne picnic with them and of course we had to snap a few photos of the two of them celebrating their engagement on the dock! Afterwards we popped that bottle of bubbly with a champagne pop and headed out into the water on a canoe. The way the sun hit the trees and glistened across the water was breathtaking! The heat from the sun prompted a quick dip in the water for a few romantic moments at sunset.
Congratulations Kaitlyn and Andrew! I can’t wait to photographer your wedding day next Spring in Columbus, Indiana!
