GARDEN OF THE GODS – COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO
On my recent trip to Colorado I spent three full days exploring Colorado Springs. I visited parks, hiked trails, and of course ate my fair share of delicious food (hello Denver Biscuit Company and Frozen Gold)!
On my second day in the city I took a drive thru Garden of the Gods. Let me tell you— you can easily spend hours in this park and it will feel like mere minutes. Garden of the Gods is a 1,300 acre park full of gorgeous landscape, sandstone formations, and hiking trails. There are no words to describe the majestic beauty of this park. It’s truly a sight to see.
Before my trip to Colorado I knew I wanted to schedule a session in this beautiful landscape. That’s when I met the Reeves family. Jillian and her husband Clay met me at Garden of the Gods for a couples session. They were passing thru the state on a vacation from their home state of Texas and wanted to capture their visit with a few photos in the gorgeous mountainside.
We hiked the Central Garden trail down into a valley. Surrounded by rock formations in the valley, we gazed up at the red rocks in awe. The view was heavenly. Jillian and Clay’s couple session was a mix of posed and unposed. As a photographer herself, Jillian and I shared a few laughs and bonded over us both having the same camera model (shout-out to my canon brand family). At the end of our session together I snapped a few fun photos of her family all together. I’m so glad to have met the Reeves family and hope our paths cross again.
